Sometimes It's a Little Scary...

As my sons and I walked in the door from playing outside in the snow, I could hear the steady hum of the treadmill from our back bedroom with Elise's "thump, thump, thumping" footsteps as she exercised. I had the boys take off their snowgear and instructed them to hang it all up in the bathroom. I then walked into the kitchen to get a drink, and immediately saw a big measuring cup full of water sitting on the counter. I saw this because my eyes always see things that are sitting where they are not supposed to be. Everything has a place in my anal-retentive-world, and this glass pitcher was certainly not in its place.

I reached for the pitcher so that I could dump out the water and put the measuring cup into the dishwasher. Before I could grasp it, though, I noticed a small, yellow sticky note that read "I'm here for a reason - please leave me be! :)" I laughed, and then I was dumbfounded. I can't believe that my wife knows me so well that she KNEW I would see this and want to put it away! I guess that's what 10.5 years of marriage brings!

Ha- I didn't even know if you'd seen it! I just came out later and it was still there- hooray!

Yes, I knew your eye would scan the room, and since it had been recently tidied, that little measuring cup would stick out like a sore thumb! :)

I love you.

You two are too cute. Funny thing is Jesse is the exact same way.

I appreciate all you blogs, Kevin. It's great to be able to read through them every once in a while...especially since I don't get to hear you on a weekly basis at devo anymore.

Just wanted you to know I've been around...
